Cammeray Rock Excavation Project
The Cammeray project was a demolition, site clearance and rock excavation project. The project started with a concrete 4 car garage demolition. The job had to be stripped of all vegetation and large trees prior to the commencement of the rock excavation. The project involved a 1500 cubic metre rock excavation. Rock vibration monitors were placed on the adjacent boundary to ensure the heritage listed house foundations were undisturbed, as per the development application conditions.
The job was undertaken through a combination of Rock Sawing and Rock Hammering on our 8 tonne Takeuchi Machine, in combination with a smaller Takeuchi machine.
Challenges
The adjacent property was a heritage listed property, therefore to ensure the foundations were not disturbed there were vibration monitors placed on the foundations to ensure vibration levels were within the limits as per the development application conditions.
